Anua Dark Spot Correcting Serum review: niacinamide and tranexamic acid for post-acne marks
Dark Spot Correcting Serum. 10% niacinamide + 4% tranexamic acid. The pigmentation-fading combo backed by science.
My verdict
I keep this in rotation for the marks a breakout leaves behind, because niacinamide and tranexamic acid are the two ingredients I trust most for the look of dark spots. It is a thin, watery serum that layers under everything. I have not filmed a full test with it yet, so this is what it is and who it suits.
How I use it
- Morning and night after toner, before moisturizer.
- Two or three drops pressed into the marks, not rubbed.
- SPF on top every morning or the spots come right back.
- Eight to twelve weeks before you judge it.
Who this is for
Post-acne marks, uneven tone, anyone who wants brightening without adding another acid.
Who this is not for
If you already use a strong vitamin C or an acid in the same step, add one at a time. If your barrier is irritated, calm it first and come back to this.
Questions I get about it
Is the Anua Dark Spot Serum safe with retinol?
On my skin yes, this is the gentle one in the routine. I use it in the morning and keep retinol at night.
How long does it take to see a difference?
Weeks. Tranexamic acid works slowly on the look of discoloration, and results vary a lot by skin.
Does it sting?
Not on me. Ten percent niacinamide can flush some people, so patch test on the jaw first.
